Write for us

Lively Spotlight welcomes considered pitches about hosting, invitations, shared tables, gathering spaces and the small rituals of getting together. We look for clear ideas that give readers a useful way to understand a specific choice or occasion.

What makes a good pitch

Send a short proposal naming the subject, the reader it serves and the central idea the piece will explain. A strong pitch has a clear scope, an original angle and a reason the subject remains useful beyond a passing trend. Tell us what kind of piece you have in mind, such as an explainer, comparison, history or occasion-based guide.

A thoughtful approach

We value precise, readable writing that explains why before offering suggestions. Avoid sweeping claims about what every host or guest should do. If your idea depends on personal experience, make that perspective clear; if it relies on factual claims, indicate how they can be checked. We do not accept work that disguises promotion as independent editorial writing.

How to send a proposal

Send your pitch through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option or explain that it is a contribution proposal in your message. Include a working title, a brief outline and any relevant experience of the subject without assuming that a pitch will be accepted. Please do not send a complete article unless requested.
